There is very little of the milk of human kindness in the Bible, it's more a collection of religious maniacs besotted with blood and sacrifice-- and death to those who don't conform.

Biblical incidents that bothered me.
by EverApostate ini wanted to discuss the (supposed) biblical events that disturbed me a lot when i was a jw.
these incidents were just read and discussed in the kingdom hall as if these are normal and justified, which clearly weren't.
perhaps this led to my awakening.

Allyson I'm sure that you have had to struggle already with your determination to assert your identity. You have found some comfort in the teachings of JWs and on top of that you have found them to be good company.
For all the appearances of that religion they only want to convert people to their beliefs because that is their validation of being right in a world which disagrees with them.
Most of us here were either born into JWs or became one and all of us here agree that their teachings and methods are wrong at best and hurtful even lethal at worst. (Their rule denying blood transfusions for example). Their promises sound appealing but are unattainable; paradise is a utopian dream.
You will never find genuine appreciation or endorsement of your particular situation from JWs who are all screwed up by blind loyalty to their chosen group.
I suggest for what it's worth that you re-think the company you are relying on for your validation and peace of mind.
Instead; be yourself--you will never be allowed to do that if you become a JW.

What do you think is the origin of Giants and/or Sasquatch?
by The Real Edward Gentry ingenesis says a lot about both pre-flood and post-flood giants.the really big nasty ones drowned in the flood but there were lots of others the israelites had to overcome including the king of basham with his 11 foot iron bed.people nowadays are much smaller and i think its due in part to us losing more and more of adams perfection.
i turn my attention to the animals that went onboard the ark but are as yet undiscovered.
during president knorr's time the panda bear was discovered in a market place in china and eventually an american team tracked them down in the wild.

They all originated in the human imagination. One big ugly monster which has made it into the twenty first century and is still alive to frighten people is the JW organisation.

Good points EA, now you mention it, it was disturbing. I used to wince and metaphorically shake my head at these atrocities but stupidly accepted that's what it was like back then.
JWs are taught not to bring their brain into the KH..............

Watchtower Loses an Appeal
by TerryWalstrom inpublication court of appeal, fourth appellate district division one state of california osbaldo padron, plaintiff and respondent, v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc., defendant and appellant.findingwatchtower has abused the discovery process.
it has zealously advocated its position and lost multiple times.
yet, it cavalierly refuses to acknowledge the consequences of these losses and the validity of the court's orders requiring it to produce documents in response to request number 12. and, in a further act of defiance, watchtower informed the court that it would not comply with the march 25, 2016 order 39 requiring it to produce documents responsive to request number 12. the court, following lopez, supra, 246 cal.app.4th 566, as an incremental step toward terminating sanctions if watchtower persists in its unjustified conduct, imposed monetary sanctions.

This arrogant cult imagines it is above the law. I'm pleased the court has noticed this and commented on their cavalier attitude. For this they are being punished, very satisfactory!
Also note that the WT is described as "recalcitrant" and their lawyers are clearly ineffectual by repeating failed arguments. (Just like JWs do on the doors!)
Does anyone else think as I do that they are beginning to act as if nothing matters any more?
Have they seen the writing on the wall?

2 witness rule
by punkofnice ini'm gobsmacked.. the 7 rock star popes in warwick know darned well that the 2 witness rule allows child rapists to get away with their crime.. geoff (whacko jacko) jackson was at the australian royal commission and should have seen first hand what a vile man made law the 2 witness rule is.. my question is, why do they still insist on this pervert protecting rule?.
i know it's a highly controlling cult but still...........................stuff my old boots, mate!.
the above is more a rhetorical question.

The two witness rule is an OT rule. Since when do they literally apply OT rules? Only when it suits them is the answer.
We do know there have been practising homosexuals in the GB (nothing wrong with being homosexual except that the Bible and the Watchtower don’t approve). There might have been a heterosexual paedophile, we don’t know. So it could well be that to cover up some reprehensible incidents right there at or near the top of the organisation they had to come up with a story or a red herring. The OT laws gave them a loophole. Whether this is the case or not, “two witnesses” is a get off the hook ploy.
@ Conceptual, I agree with you. The really shabby behaviour is from the GB themselves because of their total lack of genuine care for the abused. Normal considerate caring organisations would know that to try and help those who have suffered means extensive professional psychological help even if it cost millions.
Of course they know that professional counsellors would strongly discourage anyone having anything to do with mind-bending cults like JWs—and quite rightly so.

I really enjoy your experiences of JW life New boy.
I liked the bit about the householder and the son he wouldn't have had if he had been a good JW. It goes to show how our response to witnesses calling at our door can be important in waking them up .
As you show the religion plays with the mind of the members not to mention that the congregations are full of unstable people who for their sanity cling to the false comfort of paradise. To make matters worse they are discouraged from getting the effective treatment they need.

Tragic news, freak elevator accident kills off entire governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Engineers point to overloading but police have not ruled out sabotage.

Mid 80's quote on 1934 not being start of the Last Days
by wizzstick incan anyone remember this?.
in a mid-80s i seem to remember a publication with a box on a page.. inside the box it was saying something like 'some have wondered if 1934 could be the correct starting date, if 587bce was the fall of jerusalem.
but history has shown it was 1914'.. does this ring any bells?.

I find it interesting that no one had the sense to question the validity of the original text. It was a story to promote a political situation on the middle of the 2nd century BCE. There is no such thing as "Seven times".
At the start of a discussion you have know whether you are reading facts or fiction..............
I also enjoy the magisterial authority referred to to give "convincing evidence to support 607 BCE" as the pivotal date. Wow! it was none other than Jehovah's Witnesses in their 1981 publication Let Your Kingdom Come. Well that settles it then!
